have just some off a reading bender for this book, so I will wait to write a review when I am sure it will be more coherent.
Book Description:
Caught behind enemy lines at the Battle of Waterloo, nurse Jane Wetherby is forced to seek shelter with British operative Lord Edward Kellington. After a night of passion, the two are separated. With nothing but the alias Jane used to protect her family, Lord Edward is unable to find the woman he can't forget.
Seven years later, Jane courts scandal by serving as the unofficial surgeon in the village of Marston Vale. When Edward arrives to formalize his betrothal to a viscount's daughter in accordance with his late father's wishes, Jane has no choice but to watch the match proceed. When a threat from the past emerges, Jane must join forces with Edward to safeguard her loved ones. But at what risk to her heart...
Here we go!!!
5 things I loved about this book
5. It is a Regency Historical Romance Novel, which means it is full of low cut dresses, and men wearing suits. All those buttons and ties do it for me every time.
4. Snarky, smart, and sassy leading ladies. Jane is a true "blue stocking" that doesn't take any stuff from anyone.
3. Holy sex scenes batman. One Amazon reviewer called it "pornography", I call it great fun. It is all written well, and doesn't overpower the book. There is just the right mix of funny conversation, plot, and steam. I swooned several times.
2. A family of unbelievably good looking siblings. I mean really, how many good looking, smart, and talented people can all be from one family. Kind of reminds me of the Mannings (Peyton and Eli) and the Hemsworths (Liam and Chris)
1. A few characters you love to hate. What is a good love Regency without some girl trying to be caught in a compromising situation to trap a man.
Finally finding a book I wanted to stay up all night to read because it was worth being a Zombie the whole next day!!!
